Karla Pate McClure‍ ‍

LCSW-C, Master’s in Social Work (MSW)

M.S. Clinical Psychology/Adolescence

Karla McClure is a seasoned clinical therapist with extensive experience supporting adolescents and families across diverse educational and community settings. She serves as a school therapist for elementary, middle, and high school students, providing direct counseling, crisis intervention, and trauma-responsive care within school environments. Karla also worked in higher education as a College Therapist at Lane College, a Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) institution, where she supported young adults navigating emotional, academic, and developmental challenges.

She previously served at Sheppard Pratt’s nationally recognized Early Psychosis Intervention Network (EPINET), supporting adolescents experiencing emerging mental-health disorders. Her work also includes trauma-informed research centered on children who have survived violence in marginalized communities.

Within her local church, Karla leads Pearls of Purpose, a year-long formation program for young ladies that teaches etiquette, social-emotional development, spiritual identity, and personal leadership. The program equips participants with the confidence, discipline, and interpersonal skills needed to flourish in school, community, and faith settings.

Across every professional and ministry setting, Karla is known for her empathetic approach, her ability to connect authentically with students and families, and her commitment to culturally grounded, evidence-based practice. She brings a deep passion for addressing systemic barriers to mental-health care—particularly for underserved youth—and integrates clinical rigor with compassionate presence to create safe spaces where young people can heal, grow, and thrive.

Education: Master’s in Clinical Psychology (specialization in Adolescence), Howard University; Master’s in Social Work, University of Maryland, College Park.
